Roney and Co. has agreed to be the custodian for State of Is- rael Individual Variable Rate Issue (IVRI) IRA accounts in Michigan, it was announced by Jack Schultz, pension and profit-sharing chairman for Metro Detroit Israel Bonds. Directing the IVRI/Individual Retirement Accounts activity at Roney and Co. will be Roney broker Joel Bruss, who advises that IVRI/IRA purchases can easily be accomplished by mail, if desired. ___Bruss met recently with Israel Bond New Leadership Executive Board members Larry Wolfe, Jonathan Brateman, Donald Wagner and Ronald Mitnick to confirm Roney's acceptance of custodian status and to accept from Brateman the first pur- chase check in Michigan for the Israel Bond IVRI/IRA program. The government of Israel has amended the IVRI Bond, ordi- narily available only in minimum accounts of $10,000, to now be available, for IRAs, at $2,000, or multiples of $2,000. The annual rate of interest is six percent, plus an additional 50 percent of the difference up % .4 4 l;•rt'Sr 4 4. to the prime rate. The interest rate is adjusted twice a year, depending on changes in the prime rate. Currently (until March 31) the IVRI is paying 7% percent.
