David Syme
The Jewish Musician," a
lecture-recital will be the fea-
tured program of Temple Israel
Sisterhood's March 10 meeting
at noon at the temple, sponsored
jointly by the sisterhood and the
Michael Syme Memorial Fund.
The program will feature con-
cert pianist David Syme and
music commentator-pianist
David Dubal.
Prior to the program luncheon
will be served. There is a charge
and guests are invited. Reserva-
tions are requested by March
and may be made by calling
Temple Israel, 661-5700.
Dubai was born in Cleveland,
Ohio. After attending the Jul-
hard School, he studied with the
noted pianist Arthur Loesser. In
1983, Dubal joined the faculty of
the Juilliard School, where he
teaches piano literature.
Dubal is the music director of
classical music station WNCN
in New York. He is a music
commentatr, interviewer and
author and his six-part series
with Vladimar Horowitz re-
ceived the Peabody Award.
Born in Detroit, Syme has ap-
peared before local audiences
and with the Detroit Symphony
Orchestra on seven occasions.
