John L. Greenberg

The National Association of
Jewish - Vocational Services
(NAJVS) presented its highest
awards to two area leaders at its
46th annual meeting.
Barbara R. Nurenberg, asso-
ciate executive director of JVS-
CW, received the Benjamin S.
Loewenstein Award, which hon-
ors an "outstanding professional
from the Jewish Vocational
Service field who has made a
significant and noteworthy con-
tribution to'that field."
Mrs. Nurenberg is currently a
member of the executive board
of the Conference of Jewish
Communal Services; is past
president of the Association of
Jewish Vocational Service Pro-
fessionals; has held numerous
leadership positions in various
rehabilitation service organiza-
tions on the state level. She has
been associated with JVS since
1970.
John L. Greenberg, vice
president of the JVS board of
trustees, is chairman of the
Jewish Educational Loan Serv-
ice, which is administered by
JVS.
He received the Samuel S.
Greenberg Award, which honors
individuals active in the, lay
leadership of the association
"who have made a significant
contribution on a national level
to strengthen the Jewish Voca-
tional Service movement."
Greenberg and his brother,
Ronald L. Greenberg, originally
established this award in honor
of their father, who was the first
President of the Jewish Occupa-
tional Council, since renamed
NAJVS.
