lease, she removed the bracelet
for the first time in over a year.
"I'm ecstatic," Milgrom said
Tuesday afternoon, "It's as if he
was a . . . relative." But Milgrom's
wrist won't stay bare for long; de-
spite the joy, the Soviet Jewry
problem continues. "Now I'm get-
ting another bracelet, with an-
other name," she said, ". . . to help

Spelling Bee
Winners Named

Ephraim Simon has been
named the winner of the Akiva
Hebrew Day School spelling bee
for students in grades five-eight.
Ephraim, a grade five student,
is the son of Caleb and Lenore
Simon of Birmingham.
Runner-up in the competition
is Rafael Zuroff, grade eight. He
is the son of Dr. Arnold and
Joanne Zuroff of Farmington
Hills.
Ephraim will represent Akiva
in the regional spelling competi-
tion to be held March 10-14 at
the Lawrence Institute of
Technology in Southfield.
Individual Akiva grade win-
ners are: Ron Meisler, grade
eight, Jordana Morse, grade se-
ven; Danny Yolkut, grade six.

Jerusalem — A biographical
dictionary of Palestinian politi-
cal figures — the first com-
prehensive study of Palestinian
political history to be compiled
anywhere — is now being pre-
pared for publication at the
Harry S. Truman Research In-
stitute or the Advancement of
Peace at the Hebrew University
of Jerusalem. Publication is an-
ticipated in two years' time.
The purpose of the compilers
of the dictionary, headed by
principal investigator Prof.
Moshe Ma'oz and coordinator
Dr. Alexander Bligh, is to create
a work which will include all
important Palestinian political
figures from the 1880s up to the
contemporary period.
