Symphony
Performs

The eighth annual Detroit
Symphony Classical Roots con-
cert, presented on Sunday at 7
p.m. in Orchestra Hall, is dedi-
cated to the memory of native
Detroiter James Frazier Jr., who
was the first black to conduct
the Detroit Symphony Or-
chestra.
Charles Dutoit, music director
of the Montreal Symphony, joins
forces with the Detroit Sym-
phony Orchestra and pianist
Alexis Weissenberg in concerts
on Thursday at 8 p.m., Feb. 14
at 10:45 a.m. and Feb. 15 at
8:30 p.m. All performances are
held at Ford Auditorium.
Tickets are available at the
Ford Auditorium box office,
Hudson's, and CTC Ticket
World outlets. Tickets for De-
troit Symphony Chamber Con-
certs and the Orchestra Hall
series also are available calling
the Orchestra Hall box office,
833-3700.

$2 million to Harper Hospital's
Radiation Oncology Center in
memory of their husbands.
The gift will go toward de-
velopment of the Radiation On-
cology Center Phase II/
Superconducting Cyclotron Proj-
ect for the treatment of cancer.
