Capt. Tsui Grosswald emphasizes a point at his lecture.

eradicate them, because it
means they will go to heaven.
This belief is so great among the
Moslems that they are willing to
die for it.
He urged his audience to let
the government know that they
will back efforts to fight ter-
rorism. In addition, he said the
U.S.. can make an impact on
other countries — particularly
those that harbor terrorists —
by cutting off foreign aid.
Americans can also protect Is-
rael by not electing politicians
"who threaten Israel's exist-
ence." He said it was up to
Americana to "make sure politi-
cians buy arms to guarantee Is-
rael's existence. In other words,
Americans should support
politicians who favor military
aid for Israel."
Israel spends about one-
seventh of its budget on F-15
jets from the U.S., Grosswald

said, adding that "as long as we
(Israel) have military might we
will keep Arabs from going for
the jugular."
Grosswald said it was neces-
sary for Israel to have such
military might because if "Israel
loses one battle (against the
Arabs) then it loses everything.
Weakness invites a stab in the
back."
Grosswald urged his audience
to send their children and
grandchildren to Israel. "It will
keep your child or grandchild
Jewish. There must be an Is-
rael."
Vera Sklar of Farmington
Hills found Grosswald's report
"frightening," but she added,
that she learned a lot from his
talk. Joyce Tubben of Southfield
called the talk "eye-opening."
Grosswald is currently in the
U.S. working on master's degree
in international terrorism.

'Times' Reports On 1987
Foreign Aid For Israel

Washington (JTA) -- State
Department spokesman Ber-
nard Kalb said last week that
the foreign aid budget for the
next fiscal year has not yet
been submitted officially to
Congress and declined to dis-
cuss any specifics of what the
Administration might request.
But according to a report in
The New York Times, Presi-
dent Reagan is planning to re-
quest that Congress maintain
U.S. aid to Israel next year at
the same level approved for
fiscal year 1986.
According to the report, the
proposed foreign aid budgets
for Israel and Egypt would re-
main about the same as this
year, with a total of -US 1.3
billion to be requested for
Egypt and US 3 billion for
Israel.
Israel would receive US 1.2
billion in economic assistance

and US 1.8 billion in military
aid in fiscal 1987 if the Presi-
dent's request is met. This
would be US 100 million less
than Israel has asked in mili-
tary aid but passage of the
Gramm-Rudman devicit reduc-
tion law last month made
chances for the additional sum
doubtful.
Aid to Israel in fiscal 1986
was augmented by a supple-
mental authorization which
brought the total to US 3.75
billion, 'making Israel the
largest single recipient of
American aid. Israel, however,
will voluntarily return US 51
million of its US 1.2 billion
economic assistance grant to
help the Administration meet
the 4.3 percent across-the-
board reduction in foreign aid
necessitated by the spending
limits imposed by Gramm-
Rudman. . _
