Dr. Ehud Sprinzak

Dr. Ehud Sprinzak, senior lec-
turer in political science at the
Hebrew University of
Jerusalem, will be the featured
speaker at a meeting of the De-
troit Chapter of American
Jewish Committee on Wednes-
day at the main United Hebrew
Schools, Friedman Conference
Room, at 7:45 p.m.
Dr. Sprinzak wilb speak on
"Extremism and the Future of
Israel." He is a researcher and
author of many publications and
has received many awards.
He will be joined by Dr. Joel
Aberbach of the Institute of
Public Policy Studies at the
University of Michigan.
Dr. Sprinzak, born in 1940 in
Petach Tikvah, Israel, received
both B.A. and M.A. degrees in
political .science and history
from the Hebrew University of
Jerusalem. He received a Ph.D.
degree with distinction from
Yale University Graduate
School in 1972 and while there,
served as national chairman of
the Israeli student organization
in the United States and
Canada.
Since 1972, Dr. Sprinzak has
been teaching political science
at the Hebrew University of
Jerusalem, specializing in ex-
treme movements and ideologies
ands has been awarded a re-
search grant from the Harry
Frank Guggenheim Foundation
to study Gush Emunim and the
emergence of Jewish terrorism
in Israel..
He has been a gtiest lecturer
abroad and has been affiliated
with the World Zionist Organ
ization' scholar-in-residence pro-
gram. He is a member of the
steering committee on antis
Zionism of the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs and the De-
partment of Information of the
W.Z.O.
