Friends of Israel who have In-
dividual Retirement Accounts
(IRAs) can now make a pur-
chase of $2,000, or multiples of
$2,000, of the Individual Vari-
able Rate Issue (IVRI) of State
of Israel Bonds for their IRAs,
Jack M. Schultz, pension and
profit sharing chairman for
Metro Detroit State of Israel
Bonds, has announced. The cur-
rent annual interest rate is 7%
percent.
The IVRI Bond's annual
interest rate is a minimum of 6
percent plus 50 percent of the
excess over 6 percent of the av-
erage of the prime rates quoted
by Citibank, the Bank of
America and the First National
