Think Summer! Jamboree

Camp Tamarack's
annual January reunion
for campers and
counselors had the
summertime adrenalin
flowing.

The Fresh Air Society's annual jamboree
and reunion had many area youngsters on Jan.
19 thinking about warmer times and activities.
The annual affair at the main Jewish Commu-
nity Center's. Shiffman Hall is designed to get
kids and their families geared up for summer
camp.
Hundreds of area families took advantage
of the crafts demonstrations; carnival games,
workshops and refreshments to learn about
the Tamarack camps, meet and play with old
friends and camp counselors.
Just a few/ of the 'many activities are
shown in these photographs, .beginning with
the large photograph above, and going

turned out to be a "handy" way _to make a
rope. Below, Gary Richmond, a Tamarack
crafts expert,. gives Jennifer Blyer some tips on

making beautiful, hand-crafted pottery.
In the 'Center, Alan Pepsick and Mathew
May help Mirnam Schreiber re-acquire a
summertime skill on the camp's miniature
climbing tower. Below, left, Dr. David Harold
gives his daughter, Jessica, a bird's eye view
of the bustling activities.
At the refreshment stand, a bearded

popcorn, and some thirsty friends make
fresh-pressed apple juice. Randy is outdoor
education consultant at Camp Maas.

Goldenberg and Linsay Shook enjoyed the
day's activities, especially the cotton candy.
More than 600 youngsters participated in
the three-hour jamboree, happy to forget
about winter and - dream about summer fun.
At the same time, parents learned more about
