b'Shevat program on Sunday at
2 p.m. in the meeting rooms of
the Labor Zionist Institute,
25900 Greenfield, Suite 205E,
Oak Park, announce Ann Kap-
lan and Isadore Shrodeck,
presidents, respectively.
Ed Rosenthal, executive direc-
tor of the Jewish National Fund,
will speak on the activities of
the J.N.F. and will shoW the
new film J.N.F. on Camera 7.
Sonny Lippenholtz will lead
community singing. Rebecca
Goldberg; J.N.F. chairman for
Naamat, will chair the meeting.
Refreshments will be served.

Sinai Hospital of Detroit is
looking for participants for a
study being performed by the
cardiac fitness and rehabilita-
tion program. The study will
evaluate the interaction of a
commonly prescribed type of
cardiac medication, "beta-
blockers," and exercise training
on the two forms of blood choles-
terol.
For the study, patients, on a
random basis, will be instructed
t take either a beta-blocker or
an - inactive substance.
All patients will uridergo a
six-month period of supervised
exercise training through the
Sinai Hospital Cardiovascular
Fitness and Rehabilitation Pro-
gram. The patient's exercise
capacity will be evaluated before
and after training by an exer-
cise stress test, and blood sam-
ples will be taken to measure
the amounts and distribution of
cholesterol between HDL and
LDL fractions.
All patients will receive diet-
ary counseling in accordance
with the American Heart Asso-
ciation's most recent guidelines.
The program will be provided
free of charge to participants in
the study.
