Turk liked what he had and signed him up ... on a piece of toilet tissue during intermission ... Turk bought him some ne7 clothes, put Johnny Rayn Cleveland's 500 Club ... wh re he recorded Cry which cau ht on immediately ... with d.j. Bill Randall playing it every day at radio in Detroit ... Before Cry, Johnny was doing two shows a night, seven nights a week for $150 ... He called Turk one morning 5 a.m. ... Police were at the club holding up lines ... Johnny started getting $1,000 a week for five shows a week ... .
