Rabbi Joel Roth will address
the subject of, the Conservative
movement's view of patrilineal
descent on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
at Cong. B'nai Moshe.
Rabbi Roth was affiliated with
Cong. B'nai Moshe and is an
associate professor of Talmud
and Rabbinics at the Jewish
Theological Seminary of
America.
He has served as dean of stu-
dents at the Seminary College,
director of the Melton Research.
Center of Jewish Education and
as 'associate dean and dean of
the Rabbinical School. He cur-
rently serves as the chairman of
the Committee on Jewish Law
and Standards of the Rabbinical
Assembly.
Rabbi Roth also will visit
Cong. of Moses in Kalamazoo
this Shabbat. He will address
the congregation on "Patrilineal
Descent." Rabbi Roth's visit to
Oak Park and Kalamazoo is
sponsored by the outreach de-
, partment of United Synagogue
of America.
