Blackout Ends
Jerusalem (JTA) — A four-
day television blackout ended
last week after a labor court or-
dered striking employees to re-
turn to work and instructed the
Broadcast Authority to reinstate
union leader Hezi Koka, whose
dismissal triggered the walkout
Jan. 10.
Koka, chairman of the TV-
employees work committee, was
suspended because he refused to
air segments of a newscast ob-
tained via satellite from a
foreign television network. The
segment had to do with last
week's confrontation between
Knesset members and Moslem
militants on the Temple Mount
in East Jerusalem.
A short segment of the news;
including an interview with
Premier Shimon Peres, was
blacked out briefly last night.
Technicians said the disruption
was due to a power outage, not
the strike.

Issues Apology
Bonn (JTA) — Hermann Fell-
ner, a ranking member of the
Christian Social Union (CSU)
apologized last week for an
anti-Semitic slur. He handed a
written apology to Werner
Nachman, chairman of the West
German Jewish community and ,
several hours later- made his
amends verbally in the Bundes-
tag.
Feltner is Home Affairs
spokesman for the Bundestag
faction of the CSU, the Bava-
rian sister party of Chancellor
Helmut Kohl's ruling Christian
Democratic Union (CDU). He
created a furor earlier this
month when he remarked in a
newspaper interview that
Jewish claims for reparations
from farms that used Jews as
slave laborers during World
War II created the impression
that "Jews are quick to show up
whenev-er money jingles in
German cashboxes."
