THE HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL CENTER EXPRESSES ITS DEEP SORROW OVER THE DEATH OF THE BRIGHT IDEA send THE JEWISH NEWS as a gift 354-6060 PAUL ZUCKERMAN The officers and staff of the National United Jewish Appeal express their profound sympathy at the un- timely death of Paul Zuckerman. A deeply compas- sionate individual and a distinguished son of Detroit, he always gave generously of his time and talent to help others. His humanitarian service spanned many decades, setting a standard of excellence that will serve as a model for generations to come. A vigorous supporter of the State of Israel, he devoted his entire life to building a strong, vibrant American Jewish community and to helping the Jewish people world-wide. His extraordinary record as General Chairman and President of the United Jewish Appeal, member of its Board of Trustees, Co-Treasurer and member of the Executive Committee of the United Is- rael Appeal, member of the Board of Governors of the Jewish Agency, and a member of the Board of Di- rectors of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, to list just a few, demonstrated the love and commitment by which he gave so much of him- self to serve others. The success of our programs stand as a monument to his dedication and incredible energy. Although he was well known and appreciated on the national and international scene, his dedication and enthusiasm made him a bulwark of his local commu- nity which he served in every conceivable way in- cluding the Campaign Chairmanship. We will always remember his achievements as we carry on his tradition of helping our brethren no mat- ter where they may live. Paul's name and memory will always remain in our hearts as a lasting legacy and inspiration. His passing will be mourned by all those privileged to have known him and to have shared the warmth and sincerity of his friendship. Our heartfelt sympathies are extended to the bereaved family.
