In An Elegant Atmosphere

"Is Interreligious Dialogue
Possible?" will be the topic of
Rev. James R. Lyons at a recep-
tion on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the
north Congregational Church,
26275 Northwestern Highway,
Southfield, when he reflects on
the 31/2 years existence of the
Ecumenical Institute for
Jewish-Christian Studies of
which he is the founder and di-
rector.
The reception is a thank you
for those who have supported
the institute in the past, as well
as a kick-off for a major mem-
bership drive. After Rev. Lyons'
remarks, guests will have an
opportunity to tour the institute
office and library (which are
housed in North Congregational
Church), discuss issues with one
another, hear of up-coming pro-
grams and classes, and meet the
institute staff and volunteers,
followed by refreshments.
The Ecumenical Institute fo-
cuses on theological and social
anti-Semitism, religion and the
Holocaust, Christian views of Is-
rael, Jewish views of Christians
and Christianity, domestic is-
sues such as prayer in the
schools, and united action on
behalf of Soviet Jewry.
For information about the re-
ception and about membership
in the institute, call Marjorie
and Saul Saulson, 642-7784; or
the Ecumenical Institute for
Jewish-Christian Studies, 353-
2434.
