Moses did so, and his stature was
not diminished because of it. But a
person must not remain in the
valley of despair too long. One can
withdraw and retreat for a while,
but then we must rejoin the battle
ana fight again.
The real heroes of life are not
the ones who do something spec-
tacular like rescuing people from
a burning building. That kind of
challenge occurs seldom, if ever,
to any of us. The real heroes of life
are those.who stick it outday after
•(lay, trial after trial, defeat after
defeat, until success comes. The
real'work of this world is done, not
by thoie who are the most gifted
or the most articulate. The real
work is done by those who can rise
to the occasion, who can hang in
until the job is done, who can ac-
cept setbacks, even defeats, and
start over again. For if one stays
at a task long enough -ilia tries
hardenough, eventually one will
succeed: Let this be one of the les-
sons we learn from the inspiring
life's story of Moses, our great
teacher.

Jordan Visits
Net Penalty

Jerusalem (JTA) — The
Jerusalem Magistrates Court
fined Israeli journalist Amnon
Kapeliuk 1.6 million shekels
(about $1,000) over the weekend
for visiting Jordan twice with
official authorization. _
Kapeliuk had pleaded guilty
to the charges of violating laws
prohibiting Israelis from travel-
ing to countries at war with Is-
rael. He was convicted of the of-
fense last month. _
Kapeliuk went to Amman last
March to cover. the convention of
the Palestine National Council
for the Israeli daily Yediot Ac-
hronot. The journalist, --who
holds the dual Isiaeli and
French citizenship, used his
French passport to travel to
Amman. He went on similar
trips to Algiers and Yemen. Al-
though it was well known that
he is an Israeli, he was received
warmly, Kapeliuk said at the
time.

Veterinary
College Open

Jerusalem — The new Koret
School of Vetetinary Medicine —
the first school of its type in Israel
-- has opened at the Hebrew Uni-
versity of-Jerusalem with an ini-
tial enrollment of 20 students.
The school will have a four-year
curriculum, with the first two
years of study on the campus of
the Faculty of Agriculture, and
the last two, years at the Veteri-
, nary Medicine Teaching Hospital
which will be built adjacent to the_
Veterinary Institute in Beit Da-
gan.
