Boston , The Jewish Defense
League has made public its
plans to disrupt Monday "night's
scheduled exhibition hockey
game between the National
Hockey League's Boston Bruins
and a touring team from the
Soviet Union.
Kenneth Sidman, who heads
the JDL's Boston chapter,
hand-delivered a letter to the
NHL franchise last week asking
them to cancel the game against
the Moscow Dynamo at the Bos-
ton Garden or face disruption.
At a news conference last
, Thursday, Sidman claimed that
the Soviet players ere actually
members of the KGB, the Soviet
secret police.
"If you fail to cancel the
game, there is a potential for
massive violence inside and out-
side the Garden," the letter said.
In an interview, Sidman said
the JDL would never advocate
violence because it is illegal but
he wanted to warn the Bruins-
becuse "it could happen."
Boston police said FBI offi-
cials have contacted them con-
cerning the letter and are con-
sidering stepped-up security for
the game.
The Soviet team has been on
the tour in the United States
since last week.

Rabin Seeking
Defense Funds

Minister Yitzhak Rabin Said
last week that Israel is the only
country in the Middle East
which is cutting its defense
budget.
Addressing the Central Com-
mittee of the Israel. Veterans
Association, Rabin said that he
would like the Israeli govern-
ment to show the same support
for the army's needs as
Washington appeared to have
done in its financial support.
Rabin said that if the Iraq-
Iran war ended, the Israel De-
fense Force would not be able to
operate within the present
budgetary restrictions. This was
taken as an indication that the
IDF feels that when Iraq frees
itself from the Gulf quagmire,
Baghdad will turn its attention
again to Israel.
