WSU Medical
Unit Wins Gift
Wayne State University has re-
ceived a $2 million gift from the
Louis M. and Mollie Elliman
Foundation to provide the basis
for funding of a new medical re-
search building.
According to the terms of the
gift, $1.5 will go towards the con-
struction of the building, while
the remaining $500,000 will be
directed to research in the area of
vascular studies.
Arts Classes
In Southfield
Southfield's cultural arts and
parks and recreation departments
will host a variety of classes be-
ginning the week of Jan. 13
These include the eight-week
art program, calligraphy, wood-
working and quilting. Helen
Cartmell will instruct the figure
drawing class. Registration be-
gins Jan. 4 at the Southfield
Parks and Recreation building.
