David Silverman of Detroit
captured third place in the
Hoinke Super Classic Tourna-
ment held last month in Cincin-
nati.
In a singles elimination match
game held at Western Bowl,
Silverman beat 766 bowlers
from all over the United States
and Canada. He is the son of
Merle and Selma Silverman of
Detroit.

Rabbi Harold F. Carninker, of
Temple Chai, Long Grove, Ill.,
will occupy the pulpit of Temple
Israel at 8 p.m. today, when his
nephew, Adam David Brown,
will observe his bar mitzvah.
For Rabbi Caminker, it will
be homecoming as he returns to
speak at the congregation in
which he grew up.
The son of Jack Caminker, a
past president of Temple Israel,
and Eve Caminker will speak on
"Coming of Age."
He is a graduate of Michigan
State University and was or-
dained at Hebrew Union
College-Jewish Institute of Reli-
gion in Cincinnati.
The spiritual leader of Temple
Chai since 1984, Rabbi
Caminker was installed in
ceremonies conducted by Temple
Israel's Rabbi M. Robert Syme.
He had previously served pul-
pits Olympia Fields, Ill.,
Gadsden, Ala. and Bayonne,
N.J, He also participated in a
year-long residential intern pro-
gram at Alexandria, Va., while
a rabbinical student._
Since going to Long Grove, a
suburb of Chicago, Rabbi
Caminker has been named
chairman of the college commit-
tee of the Chicago Association of
Reform Rabbis.
He is also active in inter-faith
activities in the Chicago area,
and serves on the rabbinic staff
of the Olin-Sang Ruby Institute
Camp of the Union of American
Hebrew Congregations.
Adam is the son of Marcia
and Lawrence Brown.
