of the fortune is invested in a
network of medium-sized widget
manufacturing firms, foundries
and considerable real estate
holdings, as well as such tidbits
as managing the Superdome, a
chunk of Braniff Airlines, Union
Tank Car and McCalls Maga-
zine. Nonetheless, when asked,
"So all these hotels really don't
mean alot of money to you,"
Pritzker smiled and said, "No —
but it's a living.

Paris (JTA) — A square in
central Paris was named this
week in honor of Rene Cassin, a
former president of the Alliance
Israelite Universelle and the
man who wrote, at Eleanor
Roosevelt's request, the Interna-
tional Declaration of the Rights
of Man.
Cassin, a former aide to Gen.
Charles de Gaulle who served as
Minister of Justice in France's
Free French London-based gov-
ernment, during the war, died
in 1976 at the age of 89.
The square which now bears
his name is in the heart of
Paris, near the city's main cul-
tural area, the Centre
Beaubourg. Mayor Jacques
Chirac inaugurated the square
and a newly planted park.

On Polish Visit

Paris (JTA) — World Jewish
Congress President Edgar M.
Bronfman Thursday held a
three-hour meeting with Polish
President Woyjech Jaruzelski
last week. Bronfman remained
in Poland over the weekend to
visit the site of the former Au-
schwitz concentration camp.
Polish officials said the meet-
ing was friendly and sincere.
They said that only subjects of
mutual interest had been dis-
cussed. Last Thursday's meeting
was the second this year be-
tween the two.
Bronfman and Jaruzelski met
in September in New York dur-
ing the United Nations General
Assembly.
