Tel Aviv (JTA) — The body of
an 18-year-old soldier was dis-
covered on the road from Petah
Tikva to Lod near Mazor village
last Thursday.
He was identified as Moshe
Levy, of Petah Tikva.
He had died as a result of stab
wounds. Police said his body had
been burned after the stabbing.
- Police are trying to establish
whether his death was due to
terrorist activity. He had repor-
tedly been hitch-hiking home
from an IDF base, together with
another soldier who left the ve-
hicle earlier.
Police are also investigating
the deaths of two Arabs whose
bullet-riddled bodies were found
Thursday in an avocado orchard
off Moshav Sdot Micha, not far
from where the bodies of two
Jews had been found some
months ago.
The murdered Arabs were
identified as men aged 29 and
31, from Ramallah on the West
Bank and from East Jerusalem.
One was said to be known to the
police as involved in drug traf-
fic.
In other news, Jerusalem
police charged Meir Braverman,
65, who killed an Arab in East
Jerusalem on Yom Kippur Eve,
with manslaughter. Braverman
pleaded self-defense in the case.

Tel Aviv (JTA) — The Poles
are invading Israel this month
— but it is an artistic invasion.
The Warsaw National Opera
last week gave its Israeli pre-
mier of Mannikins, based on a
story by Polish-Jewish writer
Bruno Schultz, a performance at
the Cameri Theater.
As the Warsaw opera group
was preparing to go on stage,
another Polish theater group —
Tadeusz Kantor's Cricot Two
was arriving at Ben-Gurion
Airport. That troupe will give
the first performance of its Dead
Class at the Beit Lessin's Ware-
house Theatre in the old Jaffa
port.
The performances of the two
troupes mark the first visit by a
Polish cultural group since War-
saw broke off diplomatic rela-
tions with Israel in 1967.
