The Akiva Hebrew Day School basketball team won its second game of the season, de- feating the Yeshivath Beth Yehudah team, 102-24. Akiva won its first game against Beth Yehudah, 50-14. The Akiva cagers are scheduled to play the Akiva alumni, the Skokie (Ill.) Yeshivah, and the Jewish Community Center varsity teams. Moshe Rose, Akiva coach and manager, said he is eager to match his players against other local basketball teams, and he invited other teams to get in touch with him to schedule possible games. Akiva Students Score In Math Two students at Akiva He- brew Day School have finished in the top five percent of the nearly 23,000 high school stu- dents in Michigan who partici- pated in Part 1 of the 29th an- nual Michigan Mathematics Prize Competition. Avi Schreiber, grade 11, and Dov Chelst, grade nine, are among about 1,000 Michigan students who will compete in the second and final part of the competition on Wednesday. Avi is the son of Rita and Dr. Bert Schreiber of Southfield, and Dov is the son of Dr. Tamy and Dr. Kenneth Chelst of Oak Park. B'nai Moshe USY Plans Oneg Shabbat Cong. B'nai Moshe's Chazon United Synagogue Youth (grades nine-12) will have an Oneg Shabbat at 8:30 p.m. Dec. 13 at the youth house across the street from the synagogue.
