Cocktail Reception

Women of the Jewish Welfare
Federation Young Adult Di-
vision will host Lily Nesher at a
cocktail reception on behalf of
the 1986 Allied Jewish Cam-
paign at 8 p.m. Dec. 17 at Cong.
Shaarey Zedek.
After escaping from the Soviet
Union in 1946, Nesher fled to
Germany and became actively
involved in the organization of
Jewish displaced persons. As a
volunteer in the Israel army,
she was a lieutenant in charge
of the absorption of newcomers
to the Jewish state. Later, she
worked for the Foreign Minis-
try.
Roselyn K. Blanck and Bar-
bara K. Tronstein are YAD
Women's Campaign chairmen.
Ruth Beitner, Lisa Brody, Tam-
ara R. Gorosh, Florie Schwartz,
Lynn Tarnoff and Andrea Zeme
are vice chairmen. Betsy Heuer
and Marla Moiseev are assign-
ment co-chairmen. Phyllis Kes-
sler is associate chairman of the
cocktail reception.
