Zvi Brosh
Zvi Brosh, the newly appointed
Israel consul general for the Mid-
west, will address the Einstein
Luncheon Forum Monday at
noon, at Hamilton Place, an-
nounced Judges Ira G. Kaufman
and Norman W. Feder, the
forum's co-chairmen.
Brosh will discuss: "Israel —
The Challenge of Peace and Eco-
nomic Stability."
Political commentator, jour-
nalist and a veteran of Israel's
foreign service, Brosh served as
ambassador to Romania, heading
Israel's sole diplomatic mission in
the Soviet bloc. He also served as
ambassador to Burma and Sri
Lanka, consul general in Los
Angeles and minister of informa-
tion at the embassy in Washing-
ton.
He also served as chief of the
Foreign Ministry's International
Cooperation Division, directing
Israel's technical assistance pro-
gram to developing countries. In
1980-1982 he was special adviser
to Jerusalem's Mayor, Teddy Kol-
lek on foreign policy issues.
Born in Berlin, Germany,
Brosh came to Palestine in 1933.
He was a member of Haganah and
served on the staff of the late Gen.
Moshe Dayan, when the latter
commanded the defense of
Jerusalem in 1948. He sub-
sequently spent ten years in the
Israel Defense Forces with the
rank of lieutenant coolnel.
Between his diplomatic as-
signments, Brosh has been broad-
casting political and military
commentaries for Israel radio's
overseas services.
The Einstein Luncheon Forum
is sponsored jointly by Metro De-
