Wilbert Blake was elected
president of the Downtown
Synagogue at its recent election
meeting.
Elected with him were: San-

Special Sabbath
Celebration

Cong. B'nai Israel of West
Bloomfield will have its second
E.S.P. — Early Sabbath Prayers
— at 6:15 p.m. Dec. 6 in the
synagogue.
Participants include: Dr.
Steve and Linda Jacobson,
Robin and David Pappas,
Rhonda Pappas and Mrs. Ber-
nice_Jacobson. Chuck Bletstein
will chant the kiddush.
The evening will include a
traditional shabbat-Chanukah
dinner. Shabbat and Chanukah
songs will be sung. Israeli danc-
ing also is included.
Linda Jacobson and Bertha--
Bletstein are the co-chairmen.

join the Hartford Memorial Bap-
tist Church for a black-Jewish co-
alition day observance at 8 p.m.
Monday at the church.
Rabbi Sherwin Wine of the
temple will speak on "Building A
Black-Jewish Coalition?"

have an "Evening With the
Rabbi" at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at
the temple.

UHS Expansion
Focus Of Meeting

The growth and expansion
committee of the United Hebrew
Schools, under the leadership of
Dr. Joseph Epel, is seeking
families in the Novi and
Brighton areas who wish to es-
tablish a religious school in
those areas.
A meeting will be held with
concerned parents on Tuesday at
7:30 p.m. in Room 371 of the
Sheraton Oaks Hotel, 27000
Sheraton Dr., Novi. The United
Hebrew Schools has expanded
its services in recent years to
suburban communities, such as
West Bloomfield and Troy.
