Workmen's Circle
Lecture Nears

Workmen's Circle of Michigan
will present its annual Rose
Kleinman Memorial Lecture at
2 p.m. Sunday at the Workmen's
Circle Center, 26341 Coolidge,
Oak Park.
The guest speaker will be
Mildred Jeffrey. Her topic will
be "Reflections of a Political Ac-
tivist."
A long-time Workmen's Circle
members, Ms. Jeffrey was given
Workmen's Circle's Community
Service Award in 1955. Ms. Jef-
frey was elected state-wide to
the Wayne State University
Board of Governors in 1975 and
has been re-elected each election
since then.
She was special assistant to
Walter Reuther of the UAW,
served on the Advisory Commit-
tee for Women 1978-1979 (ap-
pointed by President Jimmy
Carter), National Commission
on Youth Employment, 1961-
1963 (appointed by President
John Kennedy), Michigan Con-
sumer Council, Public Library
Commission, Parks and Recrea-
tion Commission, Governor's
Commission on Higher Educa-
tion and more.
The Rose Kleinman Fund was
established in 1978. The lecture
is open to the public. There is no

charge.

New Program
For Senior Adults

Greater Detroit Section, Na-
tional Council of Jewish Women,
has formed a new program for
senior adults, "Up and Out."
The next activity will be a trip
to the Holocaust Memorial Center
at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 11. Abe Paster-
nak, a Holocaust survivor, will
answer questions following the
tour of the HMC. For reservations
and transportation, call the
NCJW, 258-6000.
A Chaunkah songfest will be
held at noon Dec. 18 at the Knob
Woods club house. Cantor Samuel
Greenbaum of Cong. Beth Shalom
will entertain. Latkes and gifts
will highlight the day. For reser-
vations and transportation, call
NCJW.
Public affairs program commit-
tee chairmen are Sharon Radom,
chairman; Joyce Sosin, vice
president; and Barbara Stone,
chairman of aging priority.

Set in Cleveland

will hold its annual Camp Stone
reunion Dec. 13-15. There is a
charge.
