Federation Apartments has al-
ready held its Chanukah Bazaar.
Residents at all three locations,
along with the general public,
participated in games, holiday
songs and traditional foods.
Facilities operated by the
Jewish Home for Aged will hold
candle-lighting ceremonies for
their residents. Borman Hall will
have a Chanukah Bazaar on Dec.
1 with items made by Borman
Hall and Prentis Manor residents,
and the Detroit Ballet Theater
comes to Borman Dec. 8 to per-
form a Chanukah ballet.
Temple Beth El students will
come to Prentis Manor on Dec. 15
to sing songs and pass out cards
and gifts. Those unable to leave
their beds will be visited by the -
children. -
Residents at Fleischman Resi-
dence will hear the Beth Shalom
Junior Choir on Wednesday; two
days later, 4-year-olds from the
Jewish Community Center's kin-
dergarten readiness class will
come to make holiday decora-
tions.
And finally, in a community-
wide celebration for all ages, the
Jewish Community Center in
West Bloomfield will hold its
"Chanukah Fun Celebration"
Dec. 8. The day starts off with a
traditional blessing over the can-
dles, followed by a sing-a-long and
audience participation play ar-
ranged by the Jewish Parents In-
stitute.
Afterwards, children under 21/2
can join their parents for an hour
of Chanukah arts and crafts.
Children over 21/2 will have a pre-
schoolers party with carnival
games and prizes, and children
over 5 can m,ake potato latkes
and menorahs.
Then, while pre-schOol children_
listen to the Chanukah story in
the library at 2:30 p.m., their par-
ents, brothers and sisters can see
the movie Y entl in the studio the-
ater.
All of the agencies named above
are beneficiaries of the Allied
Jewish Campaign.

Jews.
Under the direction of staff
member Faye Menczer, JVS will
hold its fifth annual Chanukah
party for 50 Project Outreach
clients on Dec. 11. Participants
enjoy a hot kosher meal, sing
songs and recall the story of
Chanukah.
Clowns will keep the day lively
while clients help out with a
candle-lighting ceremony.
Folksinger Judy Goldstein will
provide the entertainment.
United Hebrew Schools stu-
dents will again participate in
school assemblies and Chanukah
parties throughout the holiday.
Gifts are exchanged, the story of
Chanukah is recited and children
gather to eat latkes and learn
Chanukah songs.
Patients under care at Sinai
Hospital during the holiday can
see the Chanukah story via
closed-circuit television. A
candle-lighting ceremony will be
held in the hospital lobby and the
chaplain will give a dreidl to each
Jewish patient.
