pear that in the majority of
other cases the families, while
not necessarily happy at their
child's decision, have decided to
make the best of the situation
and maintain family unity and
harmony.

tween 1952 and 1984. Eighty per-
cent of those fu.ids have been
given to Israel since the 1973 Yom
Kippur War, mainly by the U.S.
government. In spite of the
grants, Israel has a balance of
payments deficit of $18 billion.
