CONGREGATION
B'NAI MOSHE

summit talks with Reagan. It was
witnessed by groups of American
anti-war activists, high ranking
Soviet officials and security
agents and television crews but
only a small number of reporters
since it was an unscheduled
event.
The fact that the Rev. Jackson
pressed the issue with such per-
sistence should help convince the
Soviets that concern for Soviet
Jewry is not limited to Jews but is
shared by a broad based cross-
section of Americans." B'nai
B'rith International's executive
vice president Daniel Thursz said
in a statement. He called Gor-
bachev's response "evasive and
obfuscating."
But B'nai B'rith "deeply ap-
preciates" Jackson's forthright
appeal and commends the Ameri-
can black leader for presenting
the case "so persuasively and ef-
fectively," Thursz said.
Jackson went to Geneva on be-
half of a coalition of groups that
collected more than a million sig-
natures on petitions calling for a
ban on nuclear weapons tests. He
addressed the Soviet leader on
that subject, on the role of non-
aligned nations in verifying
agreements, on the situation in
South Africa and on the plight of
Soviet Jews.

I love my job at the Gold Place. There
is no other store with such a strong
commitment to quality, uniqueness and value. As its buyer I have access
to the world's finest dinnerware, flatware, stemware and gifts... and the
best "bargains" too. On o recent buying trip I come up with an exciting
item that you should see. Both Eliz Valassis, the Gold Place owner, and
I recommend...
