The Grubman family provides
an example of Soviet authorities
who often claim "insufficient
kinship" as the pretext for refus-
ing to grant exit visas. Gennady
Grubman, Irina's father, is a
machine engineer from Khar-
kov. His wife, Emilya, is a com-
puter programmer.
They applied for exit visas in
1979, but were refused on the
. an's aunt in
basis that Grubm
Israel was too distant a relation
to qualify for family reunifica-
tion.
After filing for emigration
both Irina's parents lost their
jobs.

In March 1980, Mrs. Perep-
letchik applied for an exit visa
with her parents,/ the Vainsh-
teins, and her sister's family,
the Turezkys. They were refused
exit visas on !the grounds of
"expediency." ,
Laskowski (Kreiger) of Sterling
Heights are ecstatic over the ar-
rival of their daughter, Terri
Ashley. Terri's siblings are Cor-
rie Anne, Matthew Alan and
Brian Anthony. Grandparents
are Paul and Florence Las-
kowski of Orchard Lake and
Ray (Mrs. Larry) Kreiger of
Southfield.

Richard and Bette (Rossen)
Bohn of Boston, Mass., joyfully

son, Jared Zachary, born in San-

Protest Halts
T-Shirt Sales
New York (JTA), — A Vete-
ran's Day demonstration held
outside a store in Times Square
has convinced the store's owner
to stop selling T-shirts featuring
the image and "accom-
plishments" of Adolf Hitler.
The shirts were emblazoned
with the words "Adolf Hitler
European Tour 1939-1945," a
list of countries and dates they
were invaded by Nazi Germany
in World War II, and a picture
of Hitler sporting a swastika
and doing the Nazi salute in
front of a map of Europe.
The protest was conducted
last Monday by members of the
Generation After, a New York-
based organization founded by
children of Holocaust survivors,
with the backing of the World
Jewish Congress.
