Homemaker Aid
Program Cited
The Jewish Vocational Service
- Community workshop's dis-
placed homemaker program was
cited along with other such pro-
grams in the state when Gov.
James Blanchard declared this
past week 'Displaced
Homemaker Week."
The JVS-CW program is
marking its fifth anniversary. It
receives funding from the
Michigan Department of Labor,
Office of Women and Work. The
program is open to individuals
from Wayne and Oakland Coun-
ties.
The displaced homemaker
program provides vocational
assessment, vocational counsel-
ing, job seeking skills and job
placement assistance to women
who through divorce, separation,
widowhood or disability of
spouse have lost their source of
economic support.
Eligibility is based on marital
and employment status. There
are no income guidelines.

Windsor Library
Displays Judaica
The Windsor Public Library
will display an exhibit of rare
book reproductions and manu-
scripts from the National Li-
brary of Canada through Dec.
13 at the library's main branch,
850 Ouellette Avenue.
The Jacob M. Lowry collection
of incunabula, Hebraica and
Judaica includes materials
spanning five centuries of cul-
ture and history. Examples of
early printing from Italy, Spain,
the Balkans, North Africa and
the Far East will be on display.
The collection also features a
first edition of • the Babylonian
Talmud.

Numismatists
Slate Program
The Israel Numismatic
Society of Michigan will present
a slide show and lecture by
Harry Flower titled "The
Numismatic Tributes to Albert
Einstein" 8 p.m. Tuesday at the
Jimmy Prentis Morris branch of
the Jewish Community Center.
The free program is open to
the public. Refreshments will be
served.
Hertz Is Named
To College Board
West Bloomfield resident and
Temple Beth El Rabbi Emeritus,
Rabbi Richard Hertz has been
named to the board of trustees
of Marygrove College.
Hertz is a former assistant to
the president of Cranbrook In-
stitute and currently Distin-
guished Professor of Jewish
Studies at University of Detroit.
