BELL
HI M

Recently in a
Friendly I
way,

reminded my friend Dave Hermelin
about some money I remembered him
owning me back in the late '50s. I
couldn't recall if he'd ever paid me.
He said, he'd paid me long ago. And
last week he sent me some cancelled
checks from 1958 to prove it.
I stand publicly corrected. And in
awe of a man who can put his hands
on cancelled checks that are 26 years
old to prove a point. This must be the
kind of guy the I.R.S. dreads. My hat's
off to Dave Herrnelin. When he says
he's paid you — you better believe it!
