Michigan legislators will be
among the guests at the 18th
(Chai) anniversary celebration
of the Jewish Federation
Apartments at 2 p.m. Sunday at
the apartments Oak Park site.
Sen. -Donald Riegle, Jr., Con-
gressman Sander Levin and
Ruth Broder, representing Sen.
Carl Levin, will bring greetings.
Oak Park Mayor Charlotte
Rothstein also will speak.
The program will include re-
marks by Joseph Jackier, first
president of the apartments;
Michael Perlman, current
president; and by Helen
Naimark, executive director.
The presentation of a gift
from the apartments to the
Jewish community will be made
by Janet Levine, chairman of
the art committee. Edythe Jac-
kier, a Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion - vice president, will accept
the gift on behalf of the commu-
nity.
The Dor l'Dor Choir, composed
of residents of the apartments
and children from Hillel Day
School, will entertain.
The apartments were cited as
"facility of the year" by the
Michigan Non-Profit Homes
Association at its 17th annual
_conference.
