It's A Deal at JCC
Vegas Night Bash

The Jewish Community Cen-
ter will benefit from the annual
Chanukah Las Vegas Night at 8
p.m. Saturday at the main Cen-
ter complex.
There will be all kinds of Las
Vegas-style games, and prizes
will be awarded. A limit has
been set of $500 in winnings per
person.
There is an admission charge.
The Center will host author
Howard Engel at 1 p.m. Monday
in the Henry and Delia Meyers
Memorial Library at the
Maple`Drake site. Engel is a
mystery writer, and author of
Murder Sees the Light.
A native of Toronto, Engel is
a founding member of the Crime
Writers of Canada and is at
work on a fifth Benny Cooper-
man mystery.
Admission is free.
An exhibit entitled, "Tradi-
tions," featuring Jewish cere-
monial art will take place at the
main Jewish Center Dec. 2-16,
A variety of art forms will be
represented: ceramics, fibers,
graphics, wood, paper cuts,
silver, bronze and alloys.

Joyce Weckstein, volunteer
coordinator, is seeking volun-
teers to help out with planning,
publicity, clerical tasks or as-
sisting at dances at the Center.

the public to an evening com-
memorating the 40th anniver-
sary of the victory over Nazi
Germany at 8 p.m. Tuesday at
the Jewish War Veterans
Memorial Home. There will be a
color film entitled, You Are
Free. The speaker will be Rabbi
Allan Blustein, ex-Army chap-
lain and presently chaplain at
Sinai Hospital. Refreshments
will follow. There is no charge.
