Five Sentenced

Genoa, Italy — The five
Palestinians accused in the
hijacking of the Achille Lauro
cruise ship last month were
convicted this week of posses-
sion of guns and explosives.
They were sentenced to jail
terms ranging from four to nine
years.
Mohammed Abbas, Magied
Youssef al-Molqi, Ibrahim
Fatayer Abdelatif, Bassam al-
Ashker and Marrouf Ahmad
al-Assadi still face trial for the
actual hijacking and the slaying
of Leon Klinghoffer, an Ameri-
can Jewish passenger.
