ON CAMPUS

Law Student
Wins Scholarship

Wayne State University law
student Michael Neuvirth has
been named winner of the
Catherine Direnfeld Memorial
Scholarship from the B'nai
B'rith Hillel Foundation at
WSU for the 1985-1986 school
year.
Neuvirth, currently in his
second year of law school, has
been an active member of the
Hillel Foundation for six years
and is founder and president of
the Jewish law Students Asso-
ciation at WSU. He also teaches
at the Adat Shalom branch of
United Hebrew Schools.
The scholarship fund was
created by Morry Direnfeld in
memory of his wife. The Diren-
felds have been active in Hillel
activities since the organization
was founded at WSU in 1945.

WSU Hillel Plans
Bowling Party

The B'nai B'rith Hillel Foun-
dation at Wayne State Univer-
sity will hold Bowling Day 1
p.m. Sunday at Ark Lanes West
in Southfield.
Participants will be responsi-
ble for the cost of their games
and may bring their own bowl-
ing balls and shoes or use those
provided by the lanes.

Teachers Workshop
Set For Nov. 24

The David Oppenheim
Teachers Institute, in coopera-
tion with United Hebrew
Schools, will sponsor an educa-
tional conference for teachers
from area Jewish schools 1 p.m.
Nov. 24 at Temple Israel in
West Bloomfield.
The program will include a
luncheon and workshops and
feature a keynote address by Dr.
Benjamin Bloom, professor
emeritus of education at
Chicago University. Dr. Bloom
will discuss "Mastery Learning."
Teachers who participate in
the conference will receive re-
muneration. Advance registra-
tion is necessary. For informa-

Mortgage Burning
