the American Technion Society,
Detroit Chapter public meeting
to be held at the United Hebrew
Schools on Wednesday at 7:45
p.m.
Moderator of the evening's
program will be Salman Grand,
one of the founders of the De-
troit Chapter of the Technion
Society and a member of Techn-
ion's International Board of
Governors in Haifa, as well as
on the National and Detroit
Board of Directors.
Schwarz, is the Metro Detroit
Jewish Community Center's
current shaliach with responsi-
bility for the Israel Aliyah Cen-
ter, youth activities, programs
and cultural arts. He also repre-
sents the kibbutz movement.
He came to Israel in 1949
from Czechoslovakia and is a
member of Kibbutz Afikim. He
arrived in Detroit in August
1984 with his wife Rachel and
their three children.
Schwarz served in the Israel
Defense Forces with rank of
sergeant (1966-1969). He is a
graduate of the Technion-Israel
Institute of Technology with a
B.Sc. degree in architecture and
town planning and has served
as chief architect for the Jordan
Valley Planning Department in
Israel.
Schwarz will illustrate his
talk with slides.
The public is invited. There is
