rael. The Reagan Administra-
tion, of course, does not want to
be undiplomatic and remind
King Hussein that his own
country of Jordan is nearly 80
• percent of Palestine and was es-
tablished in 1946 as a home for
Arabs; or that Palestinian Arabs
constitute the entire population
of his country. Nor do they want
to tell the King that his ally,
the PLO, is a criminal organiza-
tion, a tool of his fellow Arab
states that he and they set up to
murder Jews and to destroy Is-
rael. Diplomats don't say things
like that, even if it is true.
As all arms dealers know, the
proper thing to do to keep your
good an generous customers
happy is to treat them right and
give them what they want. So
the Reagan Administration,
using their economic
stranglehold, is pushing Israel
to surrender to Arab demand
and give up their defensive lines
— the mountain ridges along
the Jordan River and the Golan
Heights and even part or whole
of their capital city, Jerusalem
— and to leave the mid-section
of their country only nine miles
wide!
While we try to weaken Israel
so it will be almost impossible
for them to defend themselves,
we arm her enemies to the teeth
with our most deadly weapons.
Our leaders will call it "peace,"
but the results are inevitable.
While we look the other way to
carefully ignore what goes on
the Arabs will wage a war of at-
trition. Then finally all the
Arab armies will combine, as
they have done before, and
using the great military might
they got from us and from our
European allies and from the
Soviet Union, they will make an
all-out assault. And maybe, just
maybe, Israel, by some miracle,
will again survive.
Does it have to be that way?
Can we somehow get the world's
great powers to control their
greed and stop the Arab build-
up of arms? It is either that, or
another bloody Israel-Arab war
will surely come, irrespective of
any so-called peace agreement.

Tel Aviv (JTA) — Several
hundred sailors from visiting
ships of the United States Sixth
Fleet used their shore leave in
Haifa last week to lend a help-
ing hand to sick or elderly
people.
Men from the USS Jesse
Brown volunteered to paint the
children's ward at Rothschild
Hospital. They decorated the
walls with characters from the
Disneyland menagerie and
Superman. Other seamen toured
rundown neighborhoods to clean
and paint the homes of invalids
and other shut-ins.
