WHOLE SLAB BAR-B-Q RIBS

OR

openings are held on this day
... They gave up almost an
entire good day ... Thursday
... for this major event ..
From 3 p.m. to prepare ... and
from 7 p.m. to greet their
guests.
Remal's is not a big place, and
every booth was filled for the
food goodies and two exotic dan-
cers ... one of whom was good
... Service was excellent, and,
as usual, the place is very clean
... Jim's mother, Zahra Sage,
who helps cook at the restau-
rant, prepared the tabouli salad,
baked lamb, grape leaves, baked
chicken and spinach pie ...
There were also potato pan-
cakes, blintzes, wing dings,
lasagna, cheese cake, rice pud-
ding, baklava ... and shrimp
served by the waitresses.(Yes,
Tedd Schneider left enough for
everybody.)
Like we said, one of the exotic
dancers was quite good ... Sid
Harris got up to dance with her
. . . Art Fishman wouldn't budge
... Bashful Jim danced nerv-
ously while Alie watched with
hands against each side of her
face.
Remal's (formerly Alexan-
der's, Dimitri's and Saxon's) is a
free-standing building which
will have an outside awning ...
and umbrella tables in the open
air when warm weather comes
again ... The interior is best it's
ever looked ... with huge two-
tiered chandelier in center of
rised ceiling ... area around it
completely drop ceiling ... and
knotty pine paneling through-
out.
This was actually a two-fold
celebration for Remal's. .. its
grand opening and introduction
of a new menu with favorite
dishes ... ten American, four
Italian, three Greek, seven
Mid-Eastern, seven fish and sea-
food, children's menu, nine des-
serts, five salads, 16 regular
sandwiches and 17 speciality
sandwiches.
Remal's is open seven days a
week ... serving breakfast,
lunch and dinner.
MAIL DEPT. . . "I called
Orchard Family Restaurant

on
Orchard Lake Rd. first to see if
the Entertainment coupon was
accepted. We came in, ordered
as per menu, which read salad,
rolls or bread, fried Cornish hen,
choice of potato, vegetable and
coffee. The waitress brought us
rolls, salad, coffee. Then came
the chicken with slice of tomato,
slice of cucumber, 141 leaf of let-
tuce.
"I asked for the potato. She
said, 'The boss says that's extra.'
I showed her the menu. She
agreed, but insisted there was
an extra charge. I said to forget
it, I don't really need potatoes
As she walked away, I called
her back and asked for the veg-
etable. She repeated that it was
extra. We went through the
menu bit and she agreed but
couldn't do anything. Next she
brought the bill. 1,Ve were
charged the full menu price plus
50 cents for the rolls. Again I
called her back and we went
over everything again. She
