will dedicate a new Yahrzeit
tablet and a new "Tree of Life"
at a special dinner at 7 p.m.
Sunday at the school, announced
Barry Eisenberg, Akiva
president. Cocktails will be
served at 6.
Entertainment will be pro-
vided by song stylist Seymour
Rockoff.
The Yahrzeit tablet, which is
installed in Akiva's beit mid-
rash, was donated by Mrs. Ethel
Cohen in memory of her hus-
band, Mr. Herman K. Cohen.
The Tree of Life is located in the
school's main corridor, and was
donated by Mrs. Bess Eisenberg,
Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Eisenberg,
Mr. and Mrs. Barry Eisenberg,
and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Eisen-
berg in memory of husband and
father, Mr. Meyer Eisenberg.

Meyer Levin of Southfield was
honored at the recent meeting of
the Levin Family Club on the
occasion of his 80th birthday.
The party was held in the
home of Harold and Doris Levin.
Co-hosts were Anna and Yale
Levin, Lorraine and Paul Kales
and Karen and Dennis Block.
Levin's grandchildren and
great-grandchildalso attended.
Tribute was paid to Levin in
songs written by his nieces,
Gladys Zate and Adele Nodler.
Levin has been president of
Cong. B'nai Israel-Beth
Yehudah since 1966, and was
president of Cong. Beth
Yehudah since 1957, prior to the
merger of the two congregations.
His activities as president in-
clude overseeing the B'nai
Israel-Beth Yehudah Cemetery.
After having arrived from Po-
land in 1918, Levin was a
baker. He owned the New
Palace Bakery first in Ham-
tramck then on 12th Street.
He has been an officer for
many years of the Levin Family
Club. He also counts among his
affiliations Downtown-Fox
Lodge of B'nai B'rith and its
bowling league, Yeshivath Beth
Yehudah, Hebrew Benevolent
Society, Jewish Community
Council of Detroit, Jewish Na-
tional Fund, Council of Or-
thodox Rabbis-Merkaz, Interna-
tional Organization of Odd Fel-
lows.
In 1977, the Pearl and Meyer
Levin Forest in Israel was es-
tablished.
After his stint as a baker,
Levin formed Levin Motor Sales
with his uncle Morris Levin.
