Formed In Southfield

Henry Faigin was elected
president of the Southfield Ten-
ants Association at its organiza-
tional meeting.
Elected with him were Anne
Teache, vice president; Rose
Covel, recording secretary;
Hannah Foreman, membership
secretary; Art Schushler, trea-
surer.
Elected to the board for a
two-year term were Gertrude
Kauffman, Morris Stein, Daniel
Kelston, Sol Kleinman and
Marucie Reistman. Board mem-
bers elected to one-yeaar terms
were: Ed Sallen, Phyllis Hodes,
Max Somberg, Gretchen
Keywell and Frank Ross.
The unincorporated and non-
profit organization was estab-
lished to unite and educate ten-
ants in promoting their rights
and improving rental housing
condictions. Aimed at city-wide
rather than individual problems,
the group will concern itself
with housing services improve-
ment, rent stabilization and
legislation to obtain interest on
security deposits.

Jill Cole has been named di-
rector of the Community Net-
work for Jewish Singles at the
Jewish Community Center.
A native Detroiter, Ms. Cole
earned a B.G.S. degree at the
University of Michigan and
M.S.W. degree at Wayne State
University.
Prior to coming to the Center,
she was in private practice. She
previously worked for the Chil-
dren's Center of Wayne County,
dealing with adolescents and
families, and was involved in
home health care.
At the Center she was in-
volved with the "Me and My
Dad" program and volunteered
for the singles program for the
past three years.
