Student Rabbi
Addresses SZ

Student rabbi Joshua Finkels-
tein, a fourth-year student at
the Jewish Theological Semi-
nary, will be the guest of Cong.
Shaarey Zedek today through
Sunday.
Finkelstein is participating in
a Shabbat Cavalcade sponsored
by the seminary, which is send-
ing a select group of its students
to act as ambassadors for the in-
stitution. Finkelstein will meet
with teens and their parents
about college level studies.
In 1982, Finkelstein was
graduated from Columbia Uni-
versity with a degree in philos-
ophy. His father is Rabbi Ezra
Finkelstein and his grandfather,
Rabbi Louis Finkelstein, is
chancellor emeritus of the semi-
nary.
Finkelstein will offer a D'var
Torah on the Sidrah of the week
at Shabbat morning services at
8:45 a.m. Saturday. He will
meet with youth groups and will
speak at a special breakfast,
sponsored by the sisterhood and
men's club, at 9:15 a.m. Sunday.
The Shabbat Cavalcade is
part of the seminary's centen-
nial celebration.

light will be the performance of
Sephardic songs by Detroit corn-
poser Elaine Lebenbom, featur-
ing Miss Gordon as guest sol-
oist.
