Oak Park Mayor Charlotte M.
Rothstein is running for re-
election. Mayor Rothstein has
served on the Oak Park City
Council for the past 12 years,
serving as mayor for the past
four years.
Rothstein belongs to the U.S.
Conference of Mayors • and is a
founding member of the U.S.
Women Mayors. She is a
member of the human resources
policy committee of the National
League of Cities and serves on
the board of the Michigan Con-
ference of Mayors. She recently
was appointed as vice chairman
of SEMCOG's CORD (Council of
Regional Development) commit-
tee. She also started Oak Park's
first Chamber of Commerce.
Rothstein is on the Anti-
Defamation League and is a
member of the American Arab
and Jewish Friends. She estab-
lished the Oak Park Interna-
tional Festival Task Force.

Roeper School
Open House

Roeper City and Country
School will host an open house
for prospective parents and stu-
dents, Sunday at 2 p.m.
Visitors are invited to tour
the campuses, meet with fa-
culty, staff, and parents and dis-
cuss the Roeper program for
gifted students.
Lower School (age 3-fifth
grade) is located on Woodward
Avenue, north of Long Lake
Road. Middle and Upper School
(grade six-12) is located on
Adams, north of Maple. For in-

Diabetes Tests
Are Offered

Providence Hospital, South-
field, will offer free diabetes
screening tests on its main cam-
pus and at facilities in Ferndale,
in cooperation with the Ameri-
can Diabetes Association,
Michigan Affiliate.
Testing will take place Mon-
day, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., at
McDonnell Towers, Southfield,
and Tuesday, 1 to 3 p.m., Royal
Oak Township Community Cen-
ter, Ferndale.
