The- rabbi's aban- doned car was found by police Monday in a run-down Cincin- nati neighborhood. Shmuel Betsalel, a rabbi serv- ing Young Israel of Oak Woods and a teacher at Akiva Hebrew Day School, was reported mis- sing by relatives last Thursday after he failed to call home from Louisville as expected. The rabbi, who- also works as a gem broker under the name Sam Betz, was carrying a number of diamonds of undetermined value on the trip. Cincinnati police discovered Rabbi Betsalel's car next to a boarded up tenement in the ci-' ty's Over-thesIthine neighbor- hood. The 1981 Renault Encore, which according- to witnesses had been sitting on the street since Friday, had not been stripped or damaged.
