Women To Hear
Prison Director
Business and professional

Gluckstern, director of a 610- ,
bed maximum security. prison,
will be the guest, of the Jewish
Welfare Federation B&P
Women at a dinner meeting at
Hamilton Place, beginning with "
cocktails at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
As director of the Patuxent
Institution in Maryland,
Gluckstern is responsible for
planning policy making, budget-
ing and daily operations of the
maximum-security facility.
A dynamic speaker and
author, Gluckstern has appeared
on "Sixty Minutes" and "Night-
Line." She is adjunct assistant
professor at the Institute for
Criminal Justice at the Univer-
sity of Maryland, where she
teaches courses in correctional
administration, and she holds
masters and Ed.D. degrees in
counseling psychology.

Miriam. Edelist, international
branch' coordinator of the Israel
Cancer Association (ICA) will be
the principal speaker at the
sixth annual dinner-dance of the
Michigan Branch, 6:30 p.m.
Nov. 2 Adat Shalom Synagogue.
She - will highlight •her talk
with a slide S and film presenta-
tion depicting the role of ICA in
Israel's war against cancer. Ms.
Edelist haEi worked for the ICA
since its inception. Having
served in many administrative
posts, she now coordinates .the
fund-raising efforts of the
ranches in 11 foreign countries.
Zoltan Rubin, Michigan
ranch president, has an-
pounced that this year's affair
as been dedicated to the mem-
ry of Emma, Weiss. Barbara
Weintraub will deliyer the trib-
ite message. Harry J. Gunsberg
will give the invocation and Eric
