Jerusalem (JTA) — A gloomy
forecast regarding employment
in the country was presented to
the Cabinet Sunday by Labor
and Welfare Minister Moshe
Katzay. -
Katzav predicted that by the
end of the fiscal year, the
number of unemployed will total
some 150,000 almost ten percent
of the labor force, some 2.5 per-
cent higher than the forecast by
the Treasury. .
,Katzav said the problem was
especially acute in the develop-
ment towns. In August, he re-
. p'orted that some 6,000 people
were unemployed for six days or
more.
Minister-Without-Portfoio
Yosef Shapira (Morasha)- and
Interior Minister Yitzhak Peretz
(Shas) proposed easing the un-
employment rate by decreasing
the number of workers from the
administered territories and
'alien workers. According to
Peretz, there are presently some
10,000'alien workers in Israel.
Katzav proposed that morere
, sources should be granted to
government retraining pro-
grams. But Finance Minister
Yitzhak Modal said this should
be done only if work could be
guaranteed to graduates of 'pro-
grams. .
As the Cabinet was meeting,
hundreds of workers from the
country's two bus assembly
plants demonstrated outside the
Prime Minister's office against
pending mass dismassals.

Dutch Withdraw
From UNIFIL ,

Tel Aviv (JTA) — The 150-
strong Dutch contingent of the
United Nations Interim Force in
Lebanon (UNIFIL) pulled out of
south Lebanon last week on
their way home following a
Netherlands government deci-
sion that the UN force was no
longer carrying out its proper
\ functions.
The position held by the
Dutrhmen, on the coastal sector
of the south Lebanon area north
of the security zone, is being
taken over by troops from Nepal
and Fiji. •
Following the renewal of the
UNIFIL mandate by the Secu-
rity Council last Thursday the
force now numbers 6,650 men.
Meanwhile; three terrorists, a
local worker and a South Leba-
non Army (SLA) soldier were
killed in south Lebanon last
• Wednesday when a gang of four
men attacked the American
missionary-owned and operated
"Voice of Hope" radio and tele-
vision station near El Khiam
between Marjayoun and the Is-
rael border in the security zone.
Four men with :explosives on
their backs—estimated to have
beem,about 100 kilograms-
• attacked the buildings. One of
them managed to place his
charge near the radio studio
building, partly destroying it
and temporarily. putting it out of
• commission. The nearby televi-
sion. studios were not damaged
and transmissions will continue.
