Gingette used muted pastels in 'its soft leather outfits, with emphasis on crownless hats and big shoulders. Velvet and , faux gemstones high- lighted the 'evening clothes of Oded Gera. Velvet bodices were sprinkled with multi-colored faux stones, com- plemented by taffeta skirts. Tamara • Jones' evening ensembles of gold and black had sailor influences at the -- necklines.. Prints, patterns and plaids mark the' American, designers' fall lines this year,' and, they are making no bones About mixing them in their fall outfits. The same large-jacket, large-shoulder motif used by the Is- raeli designers also is highlighted by ,their U.S. counterparts. Mondi's - taupe separates highlight big checks in its oversized jackets, while Anne Klein's olive suedes highlight the shoulders. Formalwear recalls the '60s, with short cocktail dresses and the use of gold lame. Form-fitting basic black is back, and black velvet with faux gemstones also highlights the American designers' formalwear lines. Winter white is hot this season, and- a variety of men's and women's ensembles in numerous fabrics and textures will be seen in stores. Furs highlight the big-jacket motif. The show was staged and un- derwritten by Northland Center. Participating stores from the center providing the designs by Calvin Klein, Perry Ellis, 'Ralph Lauren, Albert Nipon and. Anne Klein were Hudson's, Scott Gregory, Ganto's, Rodeo Drive, Casual Corner, Anton's and Gingiss Formal Wear. Israeli design and couture houses par- ticipating in the show were Berger, Biba, Gabi-Model, Gali, Donna Gay, Gingette, Glima, Gottex, Honigman, Helen, Knits, Magic Touch, NibEi/16 Plus, Gideon. Oberion, Mona, Tad- Enor, 'Nilly Tvig, Oded Gera and Tamara Jones.
