Former Detroiter Sharon
Lowen will open a two-month
tour of the U.S. with three per-
formances of the dances of India
next month at the Detroit Insti-
tute of Arts.
A University of Michigan
graduate who now lives in
Louisiana, Ms. Lowen has per-
formed extensively in India. Her
U.S. tour will , conclude in De-
cember with a performance at
New York's Metropolitan
Museum;
She will perform at 11 a.m.
and 2 p.m. Nov. 9 as part of the
Detroit Institute, of Arts youth
concert series, and at 8 p.m.
Nov. 12 at the DIA.
