The panel members in New
York who will question Peres
includes U.S. Senator Frank
Lautenberg (D-N.J.) former,
Congresswoman. Elizabeth
Holtzman, and Charlotte Jacob-
son, president of the Jewish Na-
tional fund and past president of
Hadassah. The teleconference
will be moderated. by 'Daniel
Schorr, television and radio
news commentator.
Among the issues will be ter-
rorism, Middle East peace, and
how Zionism is relevant to Jews
in today's world. Naimark said
other topics will include Israel's
economic recovery and the re-
sponsibilities of Diaspora Jewry
in assisting it, how Israeli
democracy and Zionism can sur-
vive the threat of Kahineism,
and Israel's .policies toward op-
pressed Jewry. world-wide.
A local panel will handle De-
troit questions and comments. It
will inlude Rabbi Milton Arm,
Cong. Beth Achim; Ezekiel
Leikin, Zionist Organization of
America; Ann. Kaplan, Pioneer
Women Na'amat; and Inge,
Kramer, Hadassah.
Also participating in the pro-
gram will be Judge John H.
Shepherd, past president of the
Jewish Community Council;
Michael Berke, executive direc-
tor of the Jewish Welfare Fed-
eration; and Sue E. Eisenberg,
vice 'president of the 'Jewish Na-
tional Fund.

The Detroit Jewish commu-
nity and Jews in 19 other cities
in the U.S. and Canada will be
able to hear and question Israeli
Prime Minister Shimon Peres on
Sunday.
Peres will participate in a
unique 90-minute teleconfer-
ence, broadcast from New York
via satellite. The teleconference
will be broadcast locally at 2:30
p.m. on a large video screen at
Cong. Beth Achim. -
The program is sponsored by
the American Zionist Federa-
tion. . Norman Naimark,
president of the Detroit Zionist
Federation, said that Steve Gol-
din will chair the local program,

co-sponsored locally by . the
