The Volunteer Services De-
partment of Jewish Family
Service and Resettlement Serv-
ice will hold its 17th annual
Volunteer Institute 9:30 a.m.
Oct. 30 at the JFS building,
24123 Greenfield Road, South-
field.
Reynote speakers Margaret
Weiner and Elaine Zaks will
address the topics "Adjusting to
the Single Life in Later Years"
and "Marital Crisis and Trauma
in Later Years." Weiner is JFS
director of professional services
and Zaks is casework supervisor
at the agency.
The program will include a
continental breakfast and is
open to all JFS and Resettle-
ment Service volunteers free of
charge. Reservations are re-
quired.

The Center for New Thinking
will present a lecture by Rabbi
Sherwin Wine efititled "Living
with Irrational. People: Making
Reasonable Demands" 2:30 p.m.
Sunday in the Somerset Mall
auditorium. The center will pre-
sent a talk by Rabbi Wine on
"The Death Penalty: Reviving
State Executions" 10 a.m.
Thursday in the mall au-
ditorium.
